Toyota’s Corolla is that one car that people, who wants maximum efficiency in a compact model, believes in the most. So keeping up the good name, Toyota is here to enthrall all on Corolla’s 50th anniversary with 2016 Corolla Special Edition which will have a sporty look.
Toyota Corolla 2016 will appear in four trim levels: L, LE, LE Eco and S – all with 1.8 litre 4 cylinder engines. The base level models will have a choice of CVT transmission, 4 speed automatic and 6 speed manual gearboxes. The top of the class Sport model will have only manual speed transmission together with CVT. Eco has the best fuel efficiency at 30 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway. CVT based ones have a rate of 29/38 mpg, while manual speed models are rated at 28/37 mpg and 4 speed automatics are rated at 27/36 mpg. Eco has a 140 hp and 126 lb ft of torque while the rest is at 132 hp and 128 lb ft of torque.
The Special Edition will come out in a new body with bold colors on a bigger alloy wheel. It will even have a Special Edition badge and floor mat. The models will be available in three different colours- Absolutely Red, Black Sand Pearl and Super White.
The dash will have a 6.1 in touch screen display. The Entune technology will provide the user facilities like Bluetooth, navigation, voice recognition, hands free phone, music and radio control, etc. Siri Eyes Free is also added to the Corolla infotainment bundle. The digital dash will have a plethora of displays like speedometer, tachometer, fuel level, warning signs, etc.
Fabric-trimmed 6 way adjustable driver’s seat and 4 way adjustable front passenger seats will be available for all the base levels. It will have heated seats with foldable rear seat. The interior is done in black with eye catchy red accents. Automatic climate control with purifying system ensures a pleasant cabin experience.
Toyota assures safety in Corolla with airbags, stability control, traction control, brake assisted brakes with anti lock and electronic force distribution, Smart Stop Technology and a rear view camera. Corolla 2016 is made child passenger safe with Child-protector rear door locks.
